Scott
Snyder, also known as Scott Clifton, is Ron and Faye Snyder’s
only child. Dr. Faye Snyder wrote The Causal Theory by which Scott
was raised. The theory is presented five times annually at The Institute
for Professional Parenting (TIPP)
and is available with a notebook on video tape and CD as The
Miracle Child Parenting Series.
Dr. Snyder founded TIPP in 1988 when Scott was only four so other parents
could enjoy parenting as much as she and Ron enjoyed parenting Scott. Thus, Scott was
raised to be a “miracle child.” That is, he would be ethical, humble, authentic, good
natured, happy to be alive, and capable of achieving that to which he aspired, whatever it
was.
“I would have been in trouble if he didn’t turn out according to plan,” says Dr.
Snyder wryly. “I’d have to go back to the drawing board, if he didn’t represent the theory
well. I would have been shocked if it didn’t work out, but the truth is, I’m in awe that it
did.”
Two classes in the nine-week series are actually taught by Scott, himself. One is
still taught by Dr. Snyder, who always attends the graduations, as well. The other
lectures are taught by Master Teachers, all of whom have come to parent and live by
what they teach.
Born on Halloween in 1984, Scott, now 21, is a regular contract player on
General Hospital. He was a 2004 Emmy Nominee for best young male actor (under the
age of 25) his first year in the role of Dillon Quartermaine. He was nominated again in
2005 and 2006.
Scott is also an accomplished debater, essayist, and he is also a singer
songwriter, who will probably have a recording contract by the end of 2006. His music
manager, John Sloat, was scheduled to shop a deal in 2004 after Scott finished his first
demo of five songs. Scott showcased his material at BB Kings February 12, 2005 as a
benefit concert for TIPP, shortly after his music manager, John Sloat, died. Back to one.
